Johnny Walker Black is best value, and the Blue on a special occasion

Also like Glenfiddich 12

I drank a litre of wine at the age of 15 in France on a school trip and almost fucking died. I threw up in some bar's toilet but just painted the white walls red. We were chased down the road by the garcon. Dint drink wine for three years after that.

I did the same thing at 15 but with a bottle of Gin. Passed out in a ditch out Ongar way. Never touched the stuff since.

Drank a bottle of bells at 14. The smell of the stuff makes me heave even now.

I'm not a whisky connoisseur but I do like a drop of Bells now and again

Macallan 12 Sherry Oak is my regular tipple.

Big fan of the Lagavulin 8 too, and am glad that’s in regular release now rather than the occasional special edition. Love the Distillers Edition as well, but seem to be on my own in not really liking the 16.

For Japanese stuff - Yamazaki 12, but also have an unopened 18 and a 2017 special release I got when I visited the distillery last year.

Honourable mentions to Glenfarclas 21 and Glenkinchie 12

I've tried tons of Bourbons, but none come close to an Islay dram.

Jim Beam Devil's Cut is my usual summer tipple, hardly the connoisseurs' choice. but it's 45%, and I rarely get a hangover.

Oh, I can Chill.
What is your bourbon of choice then?

Fo, you can't compare something so perfect to Septic piss, and i drink said Septic piss with loads of ice in summer.

For any whisky snobs who look down on bourbon, I would point out that Laphroaig gets much of its flavour from being aged in Maker's Mark (bourbon) casks.

Re: £13 Lidl whisky wins top prize at the World Whiskies Awards
Balvennie Doublewood is just great and if you lot like Laphroaig then when you have a spare few shekels buy The Laphroaig Lore and try not to scoff the whole bottle in one sitting. I failed on that score.

I joined a single malt single cask club about 20 years ago. You got one bottle a month for £40. I stopped it after I had 15 bottles and inly drank one. I still have 8 of them. Oldest being a 1973 Speyside. You can find them occasionally online for around £250. Tastes like Bells to me though.

Laphroaig has such a great smoky taste, a definite favorite. There are loads of decent whiskies out there and more shit ones, but that said. It does depend on mood and occasion which is preferred.

The trouble with quality peated whisky is you can easily down a bottle in one sitting. If life was fair I'd happily drink a litre a day.

Pickle.

Most bourbons are an abomination?
I usually let slide most of your online excesses but that statement is truly unforgiveable.

Re: £13 Lidl whisky wins top prize at the World Whiskies Awards
Teacher’s for mixing.

Once you get into the malts there’s no drinking poison like red JW or Ballantine’s. Most bourbons are an abomination unto humanity and the Nip malts are a worthy, if pricey, dark horse.

A Japanese single malt, Hakushu, won the whisky of the year award in 2018.

It is damn good.

Speysides are the bomb.

Highland Park is a great drop. I'd recommend Jura Superstition and Bowmore too.
